Christianity is divided on three churches: Chatolic, Protestant and Orthodox. Orthodox is mostly the common relligion of the eastern christians. And the main difference with the chatolicism is that we use a different calendar, the old iulian (chatolics use gregorian). So Christmas is on the 7th of January and New Year on the 13th of Jan. There are also some differences in customs...

What are those customary differences. I may have learned them at some point though I don't think they went into specifics.

Different Christmas and New Year customs mostly. We even have a different christmas tree. And instead of decorating it, we burn it

Then, we have a family name celleboration. Each family has a saint protector, and on the day that is dedicated to that saint, the family makes celleboration with a lot of food and drinks.

Feo the main difference between the two isn't related to tradition. For example nobody knows when Christ was born, but the date we use to celebrate Christmas is the day that Roman pagans thought the God of the Sun was born. The Church just forced Jesus Christ's birth instead of the Son God's so they can convert all of the population. Also the Christmas tree was used by Germanic tribes a long time before Christ.

The main difference of Catholics and Orthodox is how they define sin and what they consider about the Lord, The Holly Spirit and Jesus Christ. The Church split in 1054 mostly because of political reasons. The main dispute comes over: God, The Holly Spirit, Jesus (and his (im)mortality), about sin and Mary...

Those are main differences, others such as custom have changed over the years. They really have no religious roots and God never told anybody to celebrate Christmas and stuff.

Only Serbs have this. This is in no way related to Christians. Serbs were pagan at first and each family was protected by their own minor God. For example: Perun (the god of lightning), Dazbog (the god of the sun) etc.
When the Eastern Roman empire forced them to become Christians from the 600s up to 900s or so they just switched from pagan Gods to Christian saints. For example one of these is called Vidovdan (Vid's day). Today we relate this to Christianity here in Serbia but the God Vid was a 4 headed giant for the Slavic tribes and the god of sight.

The merge of the Catholic Church and the Orthodox (once more) has been debated and still is. The idea was mostly popular in the 19th and the early 20th century, but it won't ever happen. How do I know all this cr*p? Well I studied faithology or w/e it is called in English for over 6 years. My teachers where atheists lulz.

Impressive indeed. But Filip, Danix asked me what are the differences, and I've mentioned all of them, no matter what happened in the past. I'm speaking about the present. And yes, I've forgot to say that the family name celeboration is the custom of Serbs only.

And it's said theology (gr. theos - god, and logos - study) not faithology

I don't think a little school subject called Veronauka deserves to be listed as theology, I mean it's a fucking extra curricular subject thought once a week xD
But if it is a good translation then thank you for correcting me on that. I was really out of an idea how to write it :/

I forgot to ask you Antonis, are you Orthodox as well? I mean, you stated you're an atheist, but were your ancestors Orthodox?
